Setup Guides

TiviMate is widely considered the best IPTV player app available. It has a clean TV-friendly interface, EPG support, favorites, catch-up, recording, and multi-playlist support. This guide walks you through setting it up from scratch.

Step 1: Install TiviMate

TiviMate is not available on the Amazon App Store, so you will need to sideload it on Fire Stick. See our sideloading guide for instructions. On Android TV boxes, you can install it directly from the Google Play Store.

Download the latest TiviMate APK from the official TiviMate website using the Downloader app or ADB.

Step 2: Add Your Playlist

  1. Open TiviMate and you will be prompted to add a playlist
  2. Select Xtream Codes (recommended)
  3. Enter your Server URL, Username, and Password from your service details page at optimedia.tv
  4. Tap Next and wait for the playlist to load
  5. Give your playlist a name (e.g., "My IPTV") and tap Done

Alternatively, you can select M3U Playlist and paste your M3U Plus URL. However, Xtream Codes is recommended because it supports EPG, catch-up, and series organization automatically.

Step 3: Set Up EPG (Program Guide)

If you added your playlist via Xtream Codes, EPG should load automatically. If it does not:

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon)
  2. Select EPG
  3. Tap EPG Sources and make sure your playlist is listed
  4. Tap Update EPG and wait for it to download (this can take 1-3 minutes)

Step 4: Customize Your Experience

  • Add favorites: Long-press any channel and select "Add to Favorites". Create multiple favorite groups (Sports, News, Movies, etc.)
  • Hide unwanted groups: Go to Settings → Playlists → your playlist → Manage Groups. Uncheck groups you do not want to see.
  • Change player: Settings → Player → try different decoder options if you have playback issues
  • Enable catch-up: Settings → Catch-up → enable for channels that support it
  • Auto-start on boot: Settings → General → Auto-start to have TiviMate open when your device turns on

TiviMate Free vs Premium

The free version of TiviMate limits you to one playlist and does not include recording, catch-up, or multiple favorites groups. TiviMate Premium is a one-time purchase from the developer and unlocks all features. It is well worth it if you use IPTV regularly.

Common Issues

  • "Playlist is empty": Double-check your server URL, username, and password. Make sure there are no extra spaces.
  • Channels not loading: Try switching the player in Settings → Player. Switch between Hardware and Software decoder.
  • EPG shows wrong times: Settings → EPG → EPG Time Shift. Adjust to match your timezone.
  • App crashes on launch: Clear cache (Settings → Applications → TiviMate → Clear Cache) and restart device.
